الرياض – سودان لايف نيوز – استقبل ولي العهد السعودي، الأمير محمد بن سلمان، في جدة وزير الخارجية الأميركي، ماركو روبيو، الذي يزور المملكة لحضور المحادثات الروسية – الأوكرانية. ومن المقرر أن يلتقي روبيو مع نظرائه الأوكرانيين بهدف تعزيز الجهود الرامية إلى تحقيق رؤية الرئيس الأميركي، دونالد ترامب، لإنهاء الصراع بين روسيا وأوكرانيا.
وقال وزير الخارجية الأميركي ماركو روبيو: “أتمنى أن يمضي الاجتماع مع الأوكرانيين على نحو جيد”، وأعرب في الوقت ذاته عن تفاؤله بالاجتماع، إذ قال: “ممتنون للسعودية لاستضافتها المؤتمر”، وستركز المباحثات في جدة، على بحث سبل تعزيز التعاون بين الولايات المتحدة وأوكرانيا.

من جهته، رجّح الرئيس الأميركي دونالد ترمب إمكانية وصول بلاده إلى نتائج مثمرة بشأن المحادثات المقرر عقدها في مدينة جدة في السعودية مع الأوكرانيين، إذ قال: أعتقد أننا سنتوصل لنتائج جيدة فيما يتعلق بالمباحثات.
ومنذ اندلاع الأزمة الأوكرانية، لعبت السعودية دورًا محوريًا في محاولة التوصل إلى حلول سلمية، إذ أجرى ولي العهد في وقت سابق اتصالات مع القيادتين الروسية والأوكرانية منذ الأيام الأولى للأزمة، معربًا عن استعداد السعودية للقيام بمساعيها الحميدة للإسهام في الوصول إلى حل سياسي يفضي إلى سلام دائم.
وباتت السعودية منصة وساطة عالمية لإنهاء الصراعات في خضم عالم متعدد الأقطاب، واحتضنت في الأسابيع الماضية المحادثات بين روسيا وأميركا بحضور شخصيات سياسية رفيعة المستوى من الطرفين، ومنذ الأيام الأولى لاندلاع الأزمة الروسية – الأوكرانية، بذلت السعودية جهوداً كبيرة في محاولة احتواء تداعيات الصراع المشتعل عبر الاتصالات التي أجراها ولي العهد السعودي الأمير محمد بن سلمان مع قيادتا البلدان.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said, “I hope the meeting with the Ukrainians goes well,” expressing optimism about the meeting, adding, “We are grateful to Saudi Arabia for hosting the conference.” The discussions in Jeddah will focus on ways to strengthen cooperation between the United States and Ukraine.
The talks in Jeddah will also address ways to enhance cooperation between the U.S. and Ukraine. This visit marks Rubio’s second trip to Saudi Arabia since his appointment, following a Middle East tour he conducted in mid-February.
For his part, U.S. President Donald Trump predicted the possibility of achieving fruitful results regarding the negotiations set to take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, with the Ukrainians. He stated, “I believe we will reach good results concerning the talks.”
Since the outbreak of the Ukrainian crisis, Saudi Arabia has played a pivotal role in attempting to reach peaceful solutions. The Crown Prince previously conducted communications with both Russian and Ukrainian leaderships in the early days of the crisis, expressing Saudi Arabia’s willingness to mediate and contribute to a political solution leading to lasting peace.
Saudi Arabia has become a global mediation platform for resolving conflicts in a multi-polar world. In recent weeks, it has hosted negotiations between Russia and the U.S. with high-ranking political figures from both sides. Since the early days of the Russia-Ukraine crisis, Saudi Arabia has made significant efforts to contain the repercussions of the ongoing conflict through the communications conducted by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman with the leadership of both countries.
