في مدينة كادوقلي عاصمة ولاية جنوب كردفان، كشفت مصادر محلية للجزيرة عن أن الهدوء يسود المدينة، بعد ساعات من تأكيد مصدر عسكري رفيع للجزيرة أن قوات “الحركة الشعبية شمال” بزعامة عبد العزيز الحلو هاجمت الجيش في 4 مناطق وهي دلوكا وكلولو والأحيمر وأم شعران.

In the city of Kadugli, the capital of South Kordofan state, local sources revealed to Al-Jazeera that calm prevails in the city, hours after a high-ranking military source confirmed to Al-Jazeera that the forces of the “Northern People’s Movement” led by Abdel Aziz Al-Hilu attacked the army in 4 areas, which are Dluca, Klolo, Al-Ahimer and Umm Sha’ran.

وأضاف المصدر أن الحركة استولت على 3 مواقع تابعة للجيش تبعد نحو 5 كيلومترات من العاصمة كادوقلي، ومعدات عسكرية، كما أسرت أفرادا من الجيش.

The source added that the movement seized 3 army sites, about 5 kilometers from the capital, Kadugli, and military equipment, as well as captured army personnel.

وأشار المصدر إلى أن القيادة السودانية في أعلى مستوياتها تواصلت مع رئيس دولة جنوب السودان سلفاكير ميارديت والذي بدوره بذل مساعي لخفض التوتر بين الجانبين، حسب المصدر نفسه.

The source indicated that the Sudanese leadership, at its highest levels, contacted the President of South Sudan, Salva Kiir Mayardit, who in turn made efforts to reduce tension between the two sides, according to the same source.

في غضون ذلك، ناشدت الهيئة النقابية لأطباء ولاية غرب دارفور المجتمع الدولي التحرك الفوري لإيقاف الانتهاكات وما سمتها المجازر اليومية في مدينة الجنينة.

Meanwhile, the Doctors Syndicate of West Darfur state appealed to the international community to take immediate action to stop the violations and what it called the daily massacres in the city of El Geneina.

وأضافت الهيئة أن الأحداث التي شهدتها مدينة الجنينة خلفت مئات القتلى والجرحى وتسببت في نزوح الآلاف.

وأكدت الهيئة أن مدينة الجنينة تحولت إلى مدينة أشباح بعد انهيار المنظومة الصحية والخدمات المدنية وخروج المنظمات الإنسانية عن الخدمة.

The authority added that the events that took place in the city of El Geneina left hundreds of dead and wounded, and caused the displacement of thousands.
