دفعت الظروف المعيشية في ظل الحرب الدائرة، آلافَ السودانيين إلى البحث عن فرص عمل بديلة بعد خَسارة وظائفهم وأعمالهم في العاصمة الخرطوم.
واتجه معظم هؤلاء إلى أعمال صغيرة منها إعداد الوجبات في مدن أخرى، ليتمكنوا من إعالة أسرهم.
فقد أفاق الناس في صباح يوم عادي، ليجدوا أنفسهم مجردين حتى من حق البقاء في منازلهم، وغادروها تحت وابل الرصاص إلى وجهات جديدة.
تدمير المحال ونفاد المدخرات
وقضى استمرار النزاع في السودان للشهر السادس على المدخرات. كما تضاءلت الآمال في بقاء المحال التجارية والمكاتب والمنازل على ما كانت عليه قبل منتصف أبريل/ نيسان الماضي.
Living conditions during the ongoing war have prompted thousands of Sudanese to search for alternative job opportunities after losing their jobs and businesses in the capital, Khartoum.
Most of them turned to small jobs, including preparing meals, in other cities, so that they could support their families.
People woke up on an ordinary morning to find themselves deprived of even the right to remain in their homes, and they left them under a hail of bullets for new destinations.
Destruction of shops and depletion of savings
The continuation of the conflict in Sudan for the sixth month destroyed savings. Hopes have also diminished that shops, offices, and homes will remain as they were before mid-April.
ويروي أحد السودانيين أنه كان يملك متجرًا لبيع أجهزة الهاتف لكنه تعرّض للنهب.
أمّا بالنسبة لشخص فقد مطاعمه الشعبية أو محله التجاري، في الخرطوم بفعل الحرب، فليس من مخرج سوى البحث عن عمل جديد تمثل ببيع وجبة “الأقاشي”.
وتضيف تجربة النزوح واللجوء الكثير لمن اضطروا لاختبارها، وتفتح آفاقهم للتحرك والبحث عن بدائل في حدود المتاح.
فالوجبات التقليدية الخفيفة والمحبوبة في وقت السلم، تنقذ أصحابها في وقت الشدة وتعيد ربط الآخرين بالزمان والمكان، علّهم يعودون لمنازلهم وأسواقهم يومًا لكتابة تاريخ جديد.

The experience of displacement and asylum adds a lot to those who had to experience it, and opens their horizons to move and search for alternatives within the limits of what is available.
Traditional snacks that are loved in peacetime save their owners in times of distress and reconnect others to time and place, so that they may return to their homes and markets one day to write a new history.
