خلال مشاركته امس في قمة ايغاد بدولة جيبوتي أكد مبعوث الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة الخاص للسودان، رمطان لعمامرة، أن وقف الأعمال العدائية سيؤدي إلى استعادة الاستقرار «ما يوجب على القادة السودانيين إظهار الشجاعة اللازمة لاتخاذ قرارات صعبة، لكنها صحيحة لإنهاء الحرب، وتوقيع اتفاق وقف العدائيات».
وأضاف: «دعوني أعيد مقولة الأمين العام بأنه لا يوجد حل عسكري لهذا الصراع».
وقال لعمامرة إن المنظمة الدولية تدعم الوصول إلى سلام دائم في السودان، وتدعم بقوة تطلعات الشعب في الحرية والسلام والعدالة، وإن «الحرب تشكل تهديداً خطيراً لوحدة وسلام المنطقة برمتها».

Lamamra said that the international organization supports reaching lasting peace in Sudan, and strongly supports the people’s aspirations for freedom, peace and justice, and that “the war constitutes a serious threat to the unity and peace of the entire region.”
