Mohamed Salah, the former Zamalek star, believes that the Portuguese Rui Vitoria, the Egyptian national team coach, made a mistake by fielding a midfield trio in the national team’s confrontation with Zambia.
Salah said in television statements: “Today, Vitoria was not successful in fielding three players with defensive qualities in the midfield against Zambia.”
He continued: “We cannot say that Zambia is a strong team, because they faced a team that played with three defensive players in the midfield, without a playmaker.”
He concluded: “The national team began to increase pressure and attacks on Zambia after the departure of Elneny, who was not physically ready, and the arrival of Ahmed Sayed (Zizou).”
